Jacob’s Ladder News December 2016

Tuesday, December 6th, 2016

Brethren, the Jacobs Ladder committee have been working hard over the past 2 years to establish sufficient funds for the provision of 3 lifts within the Swansea Masonic Hall.

There will be one elevator lift to rise from the ground floor to the ‘Crush’ landing and two smaller wheelchair lifts to gain access from the parking area in the front of the building to the ground floor and then another one to gain access from the ‘Crush’ landing level to the Major Temple.

These facilities will assist those less able to access the building independently.

We have established a fund and it now stands at £29,000, but we are attempting to raise somewhere in the region of £75,000, which is the sum required to purchase the lifts and complete the necessary builders work associated with the project. To date we have received tremendous support from brethren, lodges, side degrees and individuals, but as you can see from the figures we are only 40% into our anticipated total.

Jacobs Ladder are working on behalf of all those brethren who visit the Swansea Masonic Hall, and we hope that each and everyone of you will support the initiative, by bringing this information to the attention of those who may not be aware of the project.

Each lodge or Side Degree can help, by maybe donating the proceeds of a raffle, raising funds with social gatherings or making a direct donation from the lodge/side degree.

Jacobs Ladder will provide a suitable prize for any organized raffle. Jacobs Ladder would also welcome any suggestions from the brethren, that would help with the raising of funds.
